March

March began with a Sabbath Day tragedy. It was Fast Sunday and we have 3:00 church. So we were really looking forward to eating dinner when we got home. We were especially looking forward to the homemade soup that was simmering in the crock pot and the homemade bread baking in the breadmaker. During Relief Society, I'll admit to thinking about walking in the door at home and being greeted by the smell of homemade bread, ready to eat. You can imagine our shock and disappointment when we got home, opened the door and saw this:

Apparentely, it's not a good idea to leave the breadmaker close to the edge of the counter and then turn it on. It moves around while it kneads. And no, that's not a warm, freshly baked loaf sitting there on the floor. Just a dry ball of dough. So sad!

We enjoyed our first annual Orange Day with the D Family. We all got together at my parents' house and picked and juiced oranges. All the livelong day. A LOT of oranges. But it was fun to do it together and even funner to take home gallons of freshly-squeezed juice.

We had a super fun weekend when some of our Whitty cousins came over. All of our kids have a cousin their age to play with and they always make the most of their time together!

PK likes to watch those TV shows where they remake someone's car into something way cooler. He decided to remake Aubrey's old pink bike and give it to E. He did a great job and E. was so excited.

E. came home from school one day in March with a fish. Yes, a fish. Apparently they had some kind of carnival and all of the children got a fish as a prize. Yipee for us. (Can you detect my sarcasm here?) But it was ok because the teacher sent home a little envlope with enough fish food for one day. Seriously, one day? Ya couldn't shake a little bit more food in there? Because the kid will loose interest in the fish by about day four. Luckily we had an old fish bowl so all I had to buy to keep it alive was a container of fish food. Really, couldn't they have sent the kids home with a sucker or a noisy kazoo or even a fake tattoo? Anyone whose child takes preschool from me can count on the fact that I will never, ever send your child home with a fish. Never. But you can't beat the look on this kid's face!

Here's an example of some good Sunday fun. This activity is probably not on those lists you made in Sunday School and Primary about things to do on the Sabbath Day.

Yes, the boys decided to chain PK to the swingset. Whatever floats you boat, boys. At least they're doing it together, right?

I remember you telling me about the bread maker. :) Funny! And sad.

So sad about your breakmaker! But the picture did make me laugh.

The Orange Day sounds like grand fun! My yard growing up had TONS of oranges. It was usually one of our chores to juice a gallon. There are few things I love more than a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. When I moved away and bought a store bought orange I was shocked by the difference!

Thanks for the news!
