There once was a mother with 4 darling kids
Who'll admit she'd had a rough day.
Evening had come
And dinner was done
Sorry kids, she didn't want to play.
The dad was at scouts, she wanted to pout
So she settled in on the soft couch,
She wanted to chill
Perhaps take a pill
Her ankle was making her say, "Ouch!"
She turned on the TV to catch a good show
American Idol always cheered this good mama,
But to her dismay
No Idol today
Only a speech from President Obama.
"No food on the carpet!" she said once again
She'd said it a hundred times before.
But when she looked up
Her child was holding a cup
Of chocolate milk that spilled all over the floor.
She couldn't believe what she'd just seen
Chocolate milk all over the rug
So she sent them to bed
(Her face was bright red)
Without even so much as a hug!
